Ruiru Technical and Vocational College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution located in Ruiru, Kiambu County, Kenya. The institution was established in 2023 as part of the Government of Kenya’s initiative to expand access to technical and vocational training across the country. The college was developed to support Kenya’s vision of strengthening skills-based education and reducing unemployment by equipping learners with practical, industry-relevant competencies. Before its establishment, students in the region relied on other nearby technical institutions, but the growing population and demand for technical skills in Ruiru and its surroundings led to the creation of a dedicated TVET college. Since its opening, Ruiru Technical and Vocational College has focused on competency-based education and training (CBET), offering programs in engineering, ICT, hospitality, cosmetology, business, and other technical fields. The institution is committed to producing skilled graduates who are ready for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation in a rapidly changing economy.

Programs in software development, networking, cybersecurity, and computer applications.
Business management, accounting, entrepreneurship, and office administration courses.
Training in catering, food production, hotel operations, and tourism management.
